Letter from the Headmaster

Welcome to Agora Barcelona International School

"It is a pleasure to give you a warm welcome to our educational community. On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank you for your interest in our project and the trust you place in us to accompany your children's growth and learning.

In the 21st century, when we talk about education, we are talking about responsibility, commitment, the future and globalisation, among many other things. We live in a world in constant evolution, where generational changes occur rapidly. In this context, our team provides the necessary pause, paying attention to every little detail of the day to day to offer a quality, close and meaningful education.

We are part of Globeducate, an educational group with more than 65 schools on five continents. This network allows us to prepare our students to think globally and act locally, developing an open and committed mentality with the world around them. It is their small and big achievements that will change the world.

Our school is a big family made up of more than 30 nationalities which enables multilingualism to be alive on a daily basis; the opportunity to have friends in the classroom who see life from different perspectives enriches us every day, and disciplines such as music and art become universal languages that connect us beyond words.

Academic excellence is one of our priorities, and that's why we approach disciplines such as science, maths and technology, STEAM, through curiosity, emotion and affection, laying the foundations for meaningful learning.

But education goes far beyond the subjects: in a single day at Agora Barcelona, you can see the youngest children learning to swim, pupils working specifically on mental and physical health in a wellbeing class, the Eco School team working in the vegetable garden, or a technified student training between classes. All this is possible thanks to a privileged natural environment and first-class facilities, designed to encourage the holistic development of our students.

With 30 courses behind me, I can proudly say that few things fill me as much as meeting, years later, with former students and their families. It is a pleasure to be greeted with affection and to be told about their small and big achievements, those which, taken together, make this world a better place. As an example, I share that indescribable feeling when I walked into a doctor's surgery and, on the other side of the table, there was an alumna, and I felt in good hands. These are moments that remind me why I love what I do.

Albert Einstein said: ‘ What is important is not to stop asking questions’.

I would like to thank all the families who have entrusted us with all their children's questions since 2008 and I would like to take this opportunity to send my warmest greetings to all present and future families."
