Letter from the Headmaster

Dear families:

"At Agora Barcelona International School, speaking of education means speaking of the future. Our pedagogical work is based on a lively and demanding education, with a desire to constantly improve and innovate in order to adapt education to the reality of each moment.

Agora, which forms part of the Globeducate Group with more than 55 schools around the world, is leading a new generation of international schools. The Globeducate events which are held annually in each of the different centres of the group (Visual Arts Competition, Globeducate Model United Nations, Academic Olympics, Sports Olympics and International Music Festival) allow students to interact and work with students from other countries and, together with participation in different solidarity campaigns, promote this global preparation and reinforce the spirit of solidarity, empathy and collaboration, values which undoubtedly form part of the human formation which the whole school team works on every day.

Every day we welcome our pupils with their backpacks full of enthusiasm, effort, perseverance and curiosity to learn, as these are the ingredients that allow them to achieve great results, while we grow and advance together.

Our aim as educators is to make our pupils feel happy at school: we are convinced that a favourable environment is key to ensuring that they achieve the knowledge and skills that will enable them to be creative and enterprising and to integrate into society in the best possible conditions.

For this reason, the school invests year after year in being able to improve not only the facilities, but also all those resources which can guarantee excellent pedagogical innovation which offers effective methodologies adapted to pupils' needs.

At Agora Barcelona International School we are committed on a daily basis to ensuring a well-rounded education for our pupils, giving importance to the transmission of values and work habits which are fundamental to their personal development. We want them to be provided with all the necessary tools and skills during their time at our school so that they can live successfully in a globalised world.

Our educational project has a clear international vision. At all stages of education we aim to broaden students' educational experience and encourage them to put their knowledge and understanding into practice, working on processes and not just content.

We want our students to be citizens of the world open to change and therefore we encourage their active participation in various international programmes in order to maximise their mobility abroad and cooperative work with students from other countries. At a linguistic level, there are many students who successfully pass the external exams in the different foreign languages at the school each year.

Sport, music education and art are fundamental areas in our global vision of education. They all help to establish guidelines for social behaviour and academic performance: respect, tolerance, effort, responsibility and social commitment.

The extraordinary team which makes up Agora Barcelona International School guarantees the success of our educational model. All the members of the team work day after day to get the best out of each and every one of our pupils.

Our vocation, experience and training allow us to enrich our Educational Project and update it according to the needs and priorities of the moment. Furthermore, our organisation works intensively to prepare teachers to provide them with the necessary training to introduce new technologies as a fundamental resource in the most up-to-date educational methodologies, encouraging greater student participation, as well as cooperative work and the personalisation of learning.

On behalf of the entire educational community which makes up Agora Barcelona International School, I would like to welcome you to our website. We hope you find the information you find here useful, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries or if you would like to visit our school."

Yours sincerily,

Xavi Martín
Headmaster of Agora Barcelona International School
