Our educational project
Agora Barcelona International School belongs to the prestigious international group Globeducate, with more than 55 schools in 10 countries, and its educational project is defined by 5 distinctive elements: the International Baccalaureate as a model for the future, multilingualism, STEAM, sport and the commitment to provide our pupils with the tools to grow up as global citizens who can shape the world.
IB: An education for the future
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is a complete and demanding curriculum accepted by the most prestigious universities in the world and develops pupils' key skills for academic, professional and personal success in an international context. Agora Barcelona International School is authorised to teach the Diploma Programme (DP) of the International Baccalaureate® (IB). As an IB World School, it is a researching, reflective, active and creative school in a constant process of improvement.
Multilingualism
We prepare students for an international future. We offer a multilingual educational project, with linguistic immersion beyond English, enabling pupils to master the official languages alongside English, French and German. Our pupils are deeply immersed in English from the earliest years, with 50% of the subjects and activities taught in English during the Infant and Primary stages, and the language project is adapted to each school stage, incorporating new foreign languages. Students can take exams at the school to obtain official qualifications.
STEAM: Science and Arts
Art and science through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) skills are key to children's all-round development: they bring enormous cognitive and personal benefits, as well as boosting their communication skills. Agora Barcelona is a school linked to the Conservatori del Liceu de Barcelona; thanks to this link, pupils can obtain the Basic Level Diploma in Music from the Liceu de Barcelona and go on to study advanced levels. The creative and performing arts also play an important role in pupils' education, enhancing their intellectual capacities.
Sports and Well-being
At Agora Barcelona International School, sport is an integral part of the curriculum, instilling in our pupils a passion for sport and healthy habits so that they become physically and emotionally balanced adults. Sport fosters their socialisation and transmits values in a natural way. Our students practise more than 14 sports in their Physical Education classes and have a complete "Sport Centre" and 40,000 m2 of facilities, with a semi-Olympic swimming pool in which all students practise swimming during school hours.
Shaping the World
Children entering education today will graduate as young adults in 2030. We must prepare them for jobs and technologies that do not exist today, to solve problems that have not yet been foreseen. As a school in the Globeducate group, we are committed to the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, which is why we have reached agreements with internationally renowned organisations such as Eco-Schools and WWF (World Wildlife Fund), driving projects to mobilise a community of over 100,000 people. We must encourage our students to take charge and shape their own future: we want them to be global citizens who can shape the world.
