The International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) is an internationally recognised prestigious programme which is designed to prepare senior students for a global future allowing greater flexibility in their international aspirations. The IB promotes independent, critical and analytical thinking, community involvement, linguistic fluency and an awareness of international issues.
Skills for international career development
The IB establishes a base from which students can apply to the world’s leading universities. Research indicates that a larger proportion of IB students get to university or go on to further education than from other systems. In Spain, students who have the International Baccalaureate Diploma do not need to sit University Entrance Exams (Selectividad), as they are able to validate their IB Diploma points to gain access.
The International Baccalaureate is a Spanish/English bilingual programme which allows students to develop the unique and fundamental skills needed to fulfil the demands of an international degree: cultural awareness and sensitivity, fluency in a foreign language, independence, an analytical mind, team work and social commitment. Our students become truly global citizens with a mindset open to different cultures and opinions.
The International Baccalaureate Programme, like the National Baccalaureate programme, includes a pre-university programme helping students to identify their strengths and weaknesses in order to determine possible future career paths. Throughout Baccalaureate, we carry out “Dialogue Coaching”, which consists of 10 sessions with the aim of helping students to determine their principal life goals and to work out ways in which these might be achieved. On completion of the IB course we offer a Work Experience programme which gives our students a taste of the world of work and some hands-on experience in their chosen field.
