IB: A model for the future
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) offers a curriculum that is universally accepted by higher education institutions throughout the world.
The programme delivers broad-based, academically demanding courses for students, who are guided along this journey by highly qualified, professional teachers working within an innovative educational framework. The IB qualification is welcomed by the world’s most prestigious universities.
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is a forward-thinking educational model that focuses on developing key competences and helping students to work towards achieving academic, personal and professional success within an international context. Students are encouraged to think independently and to be self-motivated in their learning. Learning in different languages helps pupils to develop greater cultural awareness and enables them to relate to others in an increasingly globalised and constantly changing world.
Agora Barcelona International School is an authorized center to offer the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) and is currently a candidate* school for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Career-related Programme (CP) of the IB. Our goal is to achieve full authorization in these programs and establish ourselves as an IB World School. We share a common educational philosophy with other IB schools: a commitment to high-quality, inspiring international education. At Agora Barcelona International School, we foster a reflective, inquisitive, active, and creative learning environment that is continuously evolving, with the purpose of preparing students who are committed to their future and to the world around them.
*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programs: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status does not guarantee that authorization will be granted. For more information about the IB and its programs, visit www.ibo.org.
