Globeducate Cup Finals: A Celebration of Sport and Community

Last Friday, 14 November, Agora Barcelona International School proudly hosted the Globeducate Cup Finals at the Mediterranean Sports Hub, bringing together students and teachers from across Europe for an unforgettable day of competition, teamwork, and friendship.

An International Gathering

The event welcomed:

  • 146 students and 28 teachers
  • 12 boys’ teams and 6 girls’ teams
  • 12 schools from 4 countries: Portugal, Andorra, Spain, and Cyprus

Participating schools included: Agora Andorra International School, Agora Sant Cugat International School, Agora Barcelona International School, Agora Princess Margaret School, Agora Portals International School, Agora Lledó International School, Agora Madrid International School, Agora Granada College International School, Coruña British International School, Cambridge House British International School, Nobel Algarve International School (Almancil), and PASCAL Private Secondary School (Lefkosia).

Celebrating Excellence

After a day of thrilling matches, here are the winners:

Boys’ Tournament

  • 1st Place: PASCAL Private Secondary School Lefkosia
  • 2nd Place: Cambridge House BIS
  • 3rd Place: Agora Sant Cugat International School
  • Best Goalkeeper: Philippos (PASCAL Private Secondary School Lefkosia)
  • Top Scorer: Hugo (Agora Sant Cugat International School)

Girls’ Tournament

  • 1st Place: Nobel Algarve BIS, Almancil
  • 2nd Place: Agora Granada International School
  • 3rd Place: Agora Madrid International School
  • Best Goalkeeper: Angela (Agora Granada International School)
  • Top Scorer: Zoe (Agora Granada International School)

More Than a Competition

The awards ceremony was led by:

  • Marc Andreu (Head of Agora Barcelona)
  • Jordi Ros (Head of Agora Sant Cugat International School)
  • Àlex Cerdà (Head of Agora Princess Margaret International School)
  • Viceç Gandol (General Manager, Agora International Schools)

One participant summed up the spirit of the event perfectly:

Mirna Matas, Event Coordinator, shared:

“Organizing the Globeducate Cup has been a true challenge, but an incredibly rewarding experience. Seeing the children enjoy, participate, and embrace the values of global citizenship makes every effort worthwhile. It’s inspiring to witness how sport brings students together from different cultures to learn, grow, and celebrate diversity.”
