In an interview with La Bústia, the Director of Agora Barcelona International School discussed the academic and career opportunities provided by Compulsory Secondary Education based upon his experience as the Director of a leading international school, focusing on the specific methodologies used at his own school, Agora Barcelona International School, and their importance for student development.
He notes that Agora Barcelona International School offers the four streams of Bachillerato L.O.E. in addition to the International Baccalaureate or IB, which is considered to be a highly prestigious international qualification, recognised by universities around the world. In addition to its excellent academic reputation, the IB is valued above all for its practical and active study programmes that stimulate the interest and initiative of all students who follow these courses.
The Director emphasises the importance of working with our students and providing advice and guidance at all stages of their academic journey towards university or into the world of work and speaks of the educational initiatives implemented at Agora Barcelona International School to help students on their way. One of these measures is the Pre-University Program, which helps students to make informed choices regarding their academic and professional future based upon their skills and interests. The school also provides educational coaching sessions and has a “Work Experience” programme designed to help students begin to understand the realities of working life in their chosen field.
He also talks about the importance of Vocational Training in the current work climate; Agora Barcelona International School offers high-quality vocational training in areas such as sports and leisure, providing an excellent alternative for those students who want to channel their passion for sports into a viable career choice. Finally, he highlights his pride in the enthusiasm and dedication of his students who are committed to learning, motivated to achieve their full potential and well-prepared to start their onward journey into further academic study or the world of work.
